Note: As part of building the light rail station at 43rd and Brooklyn, Sound Transit will rebuild parts of Brooklyn and 43rd.

NE 43rd Street Rebuild
Seattle Department of Transportation will rebuild part of 43rd that Sound Transit isn't rebuilding. SDOT plans to look into whether it makes sense to follow the Green Streets plan or to modify it as some things have changed since the Green Streets Plan was developed.

Rapid Rides
A new rapid ride running east-west near the new light rail station is scheduled to open a year after the station does. Planning for the rapid ride hasn't started yet so we're at a timely point to help inform those efforts.

North Link Metro Restructure
In parallel with the three new link stations opening, metro routes will restructure to take advantage of link's addition to the transit network. Metro hasn't yet started the outreach and planning process for this so now is a good time to think holistically about how we want mobility to work in the U-District.

Area Plans
There are a LOT of plans already for the U District. One of the goals of this mobility effort is to make sure that all of these efforts are on the same page and that we're holistically considering the area.
